Why Albukhary University (AIU)?
AIU is a private, non-profit university funded by the Albukhary Foundation. Its main mission is to give bright students from underprivileged backgrounds a shot at quality education.
The university is approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and its programs are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Students from over 60 different countries are already studying at AIU — so you’ll be learning in a truly global setting.
What the Scholarship Covers
This scholarship covers most of your education and living expenses, including:
- Full tuition fees (valued over RM80,000)
- Free campus hostel accommodation
- Monthly stipend of RM450 to help with daily costs
- No contract or work bond required after graduation

- Foundation Programme: A one-year course that prepares you for university-level study
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, you need to:
- Be between 18 and 22 years old
- Be single (unmarried)
- Have strong academic results
- Bachelor’s: A-Level, STPM, Diploma, or equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.80
- Foundation: 5 credits in O-Levels/GCSE including Maths and English
- Provide proof of English proficiency (IELTS 5.0–5.5, TOEFL, or MUET). If you don’t have a test score yet, you can still apply and attend their English program.
- Come from a low-income background
- International applicants: Family income below $300/month
- Malaysian applicants: Household income below RM2,000/month
- International passport or National Identity
Although the scholarship is generous, here are the few things you'll need to pay for:
- Student visa and pass (around RM2,500 for the first year)
- One-time registration fee: RM750
- Refundable deposit: RM1,200
- Airfare to and from Malaysia
