The AUC African Graduate Fellowship is a fully funded opportunity for bright African students who want to study for a Master’s degree at the American University in Cairo (AUC).
The program is open to African nationals (excluding Egyptians) and provides full financial support for graduate studies in any field offered at the university.
This fellowship covers tuition, monthly living allowance, housing, medical service, and health insurance. The award is given for up to five semesters and one summer session, with renewal based on academic performance.

Who Can Apply
The fellowship is for African students who meet the following conditions:
- Must be a citizen of an African country, excluding Egypt.
- Applicants with dual nationality (African and non-African) are not eligible.
- Open to all disciplines offered at AUC.
- Must first gain admission into an AUC graduate program and meet all academic requirements.
- Must provide a valid TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic score.
- For continuing students, a minimum GPA of 3.2 is required to keep the award.
The duration is five semesters and one summer session, but for programs like Counseling Psychology, it can be extended to seven semesters.
